Annual EASTER EGG & BONE HUNT - Sat., April 7, 2007
Well,
even though the weather wasn't optimal, we had a great turn out and
loads of fun anyway. About 30 dogs showed up, eager to have as much
fun as their humans do at an Easter egg hunt. As is tradition, our Godfrey's
"bunny puppy" gave the signal to start. What a fun for all!
Once again, thanks to all who came out to share the fun!
Doggie parents were very patient, as they helped their furry kids understand
what they were supposed to do during the hunt. The kids caught
on quickly, as they picked up yummy biscuits and nosed or pawed colorful
plastic eggs filled with prizes. After the hunt, we had many folks
taking photos of their dogs with our Godfrey Easter puppy. Five people
won the opportunity to have their photos posted on this page. Soemone
must have been shy, since only four of them came up to us to get theri
pictures taken. Many dogs won shopping discounts to be redeemed that
day, so it was a shopping gala after the event.
The
animal welfare organization we chose to collect for for this event was
once again the Pets in Need Fund, managed by the Berks County Community
Foundation to help rescued animals receive necessary medical care. We
were a bit remiss in announcing this clearly, so the collection jar
is still out at the shop for those of you who wanted to donate and didn't
hear what was going on that day. Thanks to all who have contributed!

Here's
what Dana had to say: "This is the second year I was at Godfrey's
for the Easter Egg/Bone Hunt. I'm getting better at this.
While my mommy was collecting eggs, I was eating the bones I found.
They were very good. I had a great time there and enjoyed having
my picture taken."
